What is jawline contouring filler?
A clear jawline reads as a continuous line from the ear to the chin. When the chin is short, the angle is soft or early jowls interrupt that line, the lower face looks less defined. Jawline filler restores the line with small deposits of firm hyaluronic acid on the bone, where it acts as scaffolding rather than padding.
Filler gives structure but cannot tighten loose tissue. When laxity is part of the picture we pair it with tightening in a non-surgical jawline lift; when fullness under the chin is the issue, see double chin treatment.
Who is a good candidate for jawline filler?
- A short or receding chin that weakens the side profile.
- A soft jaw angle that blends into the neck.
- Mild jowls that break up the jaw line.
- Asymmetry between the two sides of the jaw.
- Men wanting a stronger jaw without implants or bone surgery.
If the jaw is wide because of a large masseter muscle, filler will make it wider; that needs a different plan, and Dr. Lee will tell you so.

Recovery after jawline filler
| Day 0–1 | Mild swelling and tenderness along the jaw; avoid pressing or massaging. |
|---|---|
| Day 2–3 | Swelling settles; any bruises can be covered. |
| Week 2 | Final shape; a review if a small top-up is needed. |
| Month 12–18 | Gradual softening; maintenance if you want to keep it. |
“A good jawline should look like your bone, not like product. I place filler where structure is missing, nowhere else.”
Dr. Lee Yoo-jung · Chief DirectorRisks and side effects
Common effects are swelling, tenderness and bruising. Less common are lumps, asymmetry or filler migration. The most serious risk with any filler is blockage of a blood vessel, which is rare; knowledge of facial anatomy, careful technique and having dissolving enzyme on hand reduce the risk and allow quick treatment.
Frequently asked questions
How long does jawline filler last?
Usually 12–18 months, because the jaw moves less than the lips or cheeks.
How much filler does a jawline need?
It varies with your anatomy and goal. Dr. Lee will tell you after examining your profile, and starts conservatively.
Will it make my face look wider?
Placed correctly it defines the edge rather than widening. If the masseter is the cause of width, filler is not the answer.
Can jawline filler be reversed?
Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with an enzyme if needed.
Can I fly after treatment?
Yes, usually the next day.
Is it suitable for men?
Yes. The placement is adjusted for a squarer angle and stronger chin.
