The short answer

Skin boosters are injectables placed in very small amounts across the face to improve skin quality rather than add shape. What are skin booster injections?

A skin booster is any injectable designed to improve the skin itself: its water content, elasticity, texture and light reflection. They are spread thinly in the upper dermis, so they do not create volume or change contours the way a filler does.

We use three main families: micro-droplet hyaluronic acid ( Skinvive), polynucleotides ( Rejuran) and collagen stimulators ( Juvelook). The right one depends on whether your skin looks dry, damaged or thin.

Side effects and risks

Expect small bumps, mild redness and occasional bruising. Less commonly there may be small lumps that take a week or two to soften, or a reaction to the product. Infection is rare. Results vary with skin type, and boosters will not lift sagging tissue.
