PDRN Anti-Ageing Therapy in Seoul

The short answer

PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) therapy injects short, purified DNA fragments, usually derived from salmon, into the skin. PDRN is thought to support tissue repair and reduce inflammation, so it is used for dull or sensitive skin, uneven tone and recovery after laser treatment. It adds no volume, works gradually over a course of sessions, and the small injection bumps normally settle within a day.

i.

What is PDRN therapy?

PDRN stands for polydeoxyribonucleotide, a mixture of short DNA fragments. It was first used in wound-healing medicine; in aesthetics it is injected into the dermis to help the skin repair itself and settle redness. The result is skin that looks calmer, more even and better rested rather than plumper.

PDRN is a lighter cousin of the polynucleotide in Rejuran, which uses longer chains and has a more structural effect. Where texture is the main issue, Rejuran or Juvelook may suit better; where tone and sensitivity are, PDRN is often the gentler start.

ii.

Who is PDRN therapy for?

  • Dull, tired-looking skin after stress, illness or long-haul travel.
  • Sensitive or easily reddened skin that reacts to stronger treatments.
  • Uneven tone and early fine lines.
  • Recovery after lasers or microneedling to settle redness faster.
  • First-time patients who want a low-downtime introduction to injectables.

As with Rejuran, PDRN is derived from fish, so it is not for anyone with a fish allergy.

Side effects and risks

Side effects are generally mild: brief stinging, small bumps and occasional pinpoint bruising. Allergy and infection are uncommon. The effect is subtle and cumulative; PDRN will not lift sagging skin, and we will tell you so if that is your main concern.

Frequently asked questions

Is PDRN the same as salmon DNA injections?

Yes, "salmon DNA" is the popular name. The material is highly purified for medical use.

How many PDRN sessions do I need?

Three to five sessions two to four weeks apart is a typical course.

Can I wear make-up afterwards?

Usually from the next day, once the injection points have closed.

Is PDRN better than Rejuran?

Neither is better overall. PDRN suits calm and tone; Rejuran suits texture and elasticity.

Can I combine PDRN with lasers?

Yes. It is often given after laser or energy treatments to help the skin settle.

Who performs the injections?

Dr. Lee Yoo-jung plans and performs the treatment herself.
