PRP Facial Rejuvenation in Seoul

A treatment that concentrates platelets from a small sample of your own blood and returns them to the skin to support repair. Dr. Lee Yoo-jung recommends PRP for people who prefer an autologous option for texture, tone and tired under-eyes, with realistic expectations about how much it can do.

The short answer

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) facial rejuvenation uses a small sample of your blood, spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. The plasma is then injected or micro-needled into the skin, where platelet growth factors support collagen and repair. It can modestly improve texture, fine lines and dullness. Results are gradual and subtle, and a course of two or three sessions is usual.

i.

What is PRP facial rejuvenation?

Platelets carry growth factors that the body uses to heal wounds. In PRP treatment, a small tube of blood is drawn from your arm and spun so the platelets separate into a concentrated layer of plasma. That plasma is then placed into the skin with fine injections or microneedling.

Because it is made from your own blood, PRP appeals to people who prefer not to use manufactured products. The evidence suggests a modest, gradual improvement in texture and tone rather than a dramatic change. For stronger collagen stimulation, Juvelook or the polynucleotide booster PDRN therapy may give more predictable results.

ii.

Who is PRP suitable for?

  • People who prefer an autologous treatment with no manufactured filler or booster.
  • Dull or uneven skin tone and mild texture irregularities.
  • Fine lines and early crepiness on the cheeks or under the eyes.
  • Shallow acne marks often combined with microneedling.
  • Healthy adults without blood disorders or anticoagulant medication.

PRP is not suitable if you have a low platelet count, a bleeding disorder, active infection or certain cancers. It will not lift sagging tissue; for that, look at non-invasive lifting options.

How a PRP session works

01 Blood draw A small amount of blood, similar to a routine blood test, is taken from your arm.
02 Preparation The sample is spun in a centrifuge to separate platelet-rich plasma while numbing cream is applied.
03 Application The plasma is placed into the skin by fine injection or microneedling, with extra care under the eyes.
04 Calming The skin is cooled and LDM may be used to reduce swelling before you leave.

What to expect after PRP

Day 0–1 Redness, mild swelling and small bumps; avoid make-up for the first day.
Day 2–3 Skin settles; pinpoint bruises may linger, especially under the eyes.
Week 4–6 Second session if planned; skin may look a little fresher.
Month 3 Full effect of the course becomes clear; maintenance once or twice a year.

“PRP is gentle and natural, but I always tell patients honestly that its effect is quieter than other boosters.”

vii.

Is PRP safe?

Because PRP comes from your own blood, allergic reactions are very unlikely. Common effects are redness, swelling, tenderness and bruising at injection or blood-draw sites. Infection is rare when sterile technique is used. The main limitation is variability: platelet quality differs between people, so some see a clear improvement and others very little. We will discuss whether another booster would serve you better.

Frequently asked questions

Is PRP the same as a vampire facial?

The so-called vampire facial is a brand name for PRP combined with microneedling. The underlying treatment is the same idea.

How many PRP sessions do I need?

Usually two or three, four to six weeks apart, then maintenance once or twice a year.

Does PRP help dark circles?

It may slightly improve thin, crepey under-eye skin, but it does not remove pigment or hollows. An under-eye booster or surgery may be more effective.

When will I see results?

Changes are gradual, typically noticeable from about four to six weeks after a session.

Can I fly after PRP?

Yes, flying the next day is generally fine.

Who performs the treatment?

Dr. Lee Yoo-jung plans and performs the treatment herself.
