What is an under-eye skin booster?
Lower-eyelid skin is among the thinnest on the body, so it is often the first place to look tired. When it loses water and collagen it creases, shows the dark muscle beneath and catches make-up in every line. An under-eye skin booster treats the quality of that skin, not the shape beneath it.
The products are deliberately light: polynucleotides such as Rejuran for repair, or a micro-droplet hyaluronic acid such as Skinvive for smoothness. Heavier filler in this area can look puffy or bluish, which is why we use it sparingly or not at all.
Who is an under-eye booster right for?
- Crepey or wrinkled under-eye skin when you smile or in bright light.
- Make-up settling into fine lines by midday.
- Dark circles from thin skin rather than pigment.
- A mild, shallow tear trough without a real bulge.
- Maintenance after eyelid surgery to improve skin quality.
If you have true bags, a booster will not flatten them; lower blepharoplasty or eye bag removal is the effective option.

Recovery after an under-eye booster
| Same day | Small bumps and mild swelling; avoid rubbing your eyes. |
|---|---|
| Day 1–3 | Any pinpoint bruises fade; concealer allowed. |
| Week 4 | Second session if planned; skin looks smoother. |
| Month 2–3 | Best result after the course; top-ups every 6–9 months. |
“Under the eyes, less product placed precisely does more than a full syringe.”
Dr. Lee Yoo-jung · Chief DirectorSide effects and risks
Bruising is more common here than elsewhere because the skin is thin and vascular. Lumps, prolonged swelling and, with hyaluronic acid, a bluish tint are possible but uncommon with light products. Serious vascular complications are rare; careful technique and anatomy knowledge reduce the risk further.
Frequently asked questions
Will an under-eye booster get rid of dark circles?
It helps when circles come from thin, see-through skin. It does little for pigment or shadows from bags.
Is it the same as tear-trough filler?
No. A booster improves skin quality with little volume; filler fills a groove.
How many sessions are needed?
Usually two or three about four weeks apart.
Does it hurt?
Numbing cream keeps it mild; most people describe brief pinpricks.
Can I fly after treatment?
Yes, normally the next day.
Can I have it after eyelid surgery?
Yes, once healing is complete, usually after about three months. Dr. Lee will check first.
